About Boletus

Boletus edulis, named for its resemblance to a thick, dark brown liver, is hailed as one of the "Four Kings of Mushrooms." The Ming Dynasty medical text *Diannan Bencao* records that Boletus edulis has a slightly sour and pungent taste, is neutral in nature, and possesses effects such as nourishing blood and harmonizing the middle jiao (digestive system), invigorating qi and strengthening the brain, and prolonging life. Our company chose Boletus edulis for ergothioneine extraction because it is rich in ergothioneine, an important anti-aging component, with a content as high as 1.02%, far exceeding that of oyster mushrooms (0.285%).
