June 6 is National Eye Care Day-Lutein protects healthy vision
June 6 is the National Eye Care Day. Hihealth advocates that everyone should increase their knowledge of eye protection, change bad eye habits, protect eyesight, prevent myopia, and maintain healthy vision.
The occurrence of myopia is irreversible, and most of them are attributed to four reasons: inheritance of myopia from parents, long-term close-range eye use, lack of outdoor sports, and unreasonable diet. Once you find abnormal signs such as squinting, squinting, frequent blinking, frequent pulling of the corners of the eyes, frequent rubbing of the eyes, and frequent frowning, you should be alert to whether your eyes are myopic. It is recommended to go to the hospital for vision and refractive examination as soon as possible.
As the saying goes, eyes are the windows of the soul. It is particularly important to protect your eyes and do a good job of prevention. Do 8 things well, and your eyes will thank you:
1. Don't rub your eyes with your hands: There are many bacteria on your hands, and rubbing your eyes with your hands can easily cause eye infections. Therefore, you should develop a good habit of not rubbing your eyes with your hands. If your eyes feel uncomfortable, you can wipe them gently with a clean tissue or towel.
2. Continuous eye use for no more than 40 minutes: Long-term continuous eye use will cause eye fatigue and increase the risk of myopia. It is recommended to take a 10-15 minute break every 40 minutes or so of using your eyes. You can look into the distance, look at green plants or do eye exercises to fully relax your eyes.
3.Do not overuse eye droPs: Although eye drops can relieve symptoms such as dry eyes and fatigue, excessive use may cause damage to the eyes. If you need to use eye drops, you should do so under the guidance of a doctor and use them strictly in accordance with the instructions.
4. Blink frequently: Under normal circumstances, people blink about 15-20 times per minute. Blinking can evenly distribute tears on the surface of the eyeball and keep the eyes moist. However, when using electronic devices or concentrating on work, people tend to unconsciously reduce the number of blinks, resulting in dry eyes. Therefore, remind yourself to blink frequently to keep your eyes moist.
5. Eat more yellow-green vegetables: Yellow-green vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, carrots, etc. are rich in nutrients that are beneficial to the eyes, such as lutein, zeaxanthin, and vitamin A. Lutein and zeaxanthin can filter blue light and protect the retina from damage; vitamin A is an important substance for maintaining normal visual function of the eyes. Eating more of these vegetables can help protect eyesight and prevent myopia.
6. Turn your eyes more often: Turning your eyes frequently can exercise the extraocular muscles and enhance the eye's ability to adjust. The specific method is: slowly turn your eyeballs clockwise or counterclockwise, 10-15 circles each time, and you can do it several times a day.
7. Wear sunglasses when going out: Strong ultraviolet rays can cause damage to the eyes and increase the risk of eye diseases such as cataracts and macular degeneration. Therefore, when going out in strong sunlight, you should wear sunglasses with UV protection to protect your eyes from UV damage.
8. Drink wolfberry and chrysanthemum tea frequently: wolfberry and chrysanthemum both have the effect of clearing the liver and improving eyesight. Drinking wolfberry and chrysanthemum together can relieve symptoms such as eye fatigue and dryness, which is helpful for protecting eyesight.
Among the many eye protection methods, it is also very important to properly supplement eye nutrition. Eye essence extracted from natural plants such as marigold, bilberry, black currant, chrysanthemum, and Beta-Carotene is rich in ingredients that are beneficial to the eyes, such as lutein and zeaxanthin. It has many beneficial effects on the eyes.Lutein and zeaxanthin are the main pigments in the macula of the retina. They are like "natural sunglasses" for the eyes, which can filter blue light, reduce the damage of blue light to the retina, and protect vision. Eating lutein can effectively relieve and improve eye fatigue, prevent myopia, and protect vision health. For people who use electronic devices for a long time, students, and middle-aged and elderly people, proper supplementation of lutein is a simple and effective way to protect the eyes.
Eyes are an important organ for us to perceive the world. In the face of the increasingly severe problem of myopia, each of us should take action, starting from understanding the causes and signs of myopia, developing good eye habits, taking scientific and effective eye protection measures, and properly supplementing eye nutrition to jointly protect the "eye" colorful vision. On the occasion of the National Eye Care Day, Hihealth calls on everyone to pay attention to vision health, start now, and be responsible for their own eye health.
