It is a "defense molecule" for plants, capable of reducing visible skin aging in women over 40 years old!

2026-02-08

Aging naturally slows cellular renewal, with skin often showing the earliest visible signs such as dryness and reduced elasticity, while also serving as a critical barrier against environmental pathogens. In December 2025, a study in Frontiers in Aging found that trans-resveratrol, a natural polyphenol known for its antioxidant properties, can reduce visible skin aging in healthy women over 40.

How much do you know about chickpea sprout extract (equorol)?

How much do you know about chickpea sprout extract (equorol)?

2026-02-03

Xi’an Hihealth Bio extracts plant-derived equorol from chickpeas. So, what is plant-derived equorol? Equol is the end product of daidzein, a soy isoflavone, metabolized by gut microbiota and belongs to the class of phytoestrogens. Its molecular structure is highly similar to human estrogen, but its activity is milder. Equol exists in two isomers, S-equol and R-equol. S-equol has a higher affinity for the estrogen receptor ERβ and is the main form in which it exerts its biological activity. It has been reported that only about 30-50% of Asian populations (compared to about 20-30% in Western populations) can naturally produce it. Although it can be converted into equol through food, the conversion rate is very low, with an effectiveness of less than 1%. Therefore, obtaining equol through dietary supplements is necessary. The unique value of equol lies in: high biological activity: its affinity for estrogen receptors is more than 100 times that of soy isoflavone precursors; dual regulatory effect: it possesses both estrogen-like and anti-estrogen-like activities, exhibiting selective regulatory functions.

"Noble" among edible mushrooms - Hericium erinaceus

"Noble" among edible mushrooms - Hericium erinaceus

2026-01-26

Since the 1970s, research on Hericium erinaceus (lion's mane mushroom) has revealed its ability to protect gastric mucosa by reducing gastric acid and inhibiting Helicobacter pylori through its polysaccharides. Studies have also highlighted its neuroprotective and neuroregenerative properties, with hericenones and erinacines promoting nerve growth factor (NGF) synthesis, thereby alleviating symptoms of mild cognitive impairment. These findings suggest its potential for non-pharmacological intervention in early Alzheimer's disease prevention.Since the 1970s, research on Hericium erinaceus (lion's mane mushroom) has revealed its ability to protect gastric mucosa by reducing gastric acid and inhibiting Helicobacter pylori through its polysaccharides. Porcini Mushroom Concentrate Powder Emerges as a Potent Anti-Aging Ally

2026-01-21

Ergothioneine was discovered in 1909 from the ergot fungus found in rye.

It has strong antioxidant properties that prevent aging, and it has also attracted attention for its ability to act directly on the brain, a feature not found in other functional ingredients.

Ergothioneine is also known to be involved in improving cognitive function in people with mild cognitive impairment, and is expected to have dementia prevention effects. It is said to be able to be synthesized only by fungi such as mushrooms and some bacteria.

Therefore, it must be obtained through food or supplements.
