Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) are triglycerides composed of saturated medium-chain fatty acids with a carbon chain length of 6-12. They are mainly derived from palm oil, coconut oil, milk and its products, etc., mainly caprylic acid (C8H16O2), capric acid (C10H20O2), caproic acid (C6) and lauric acid (C12). The digestion, absorption and metabolism of MCT in the body are different from LCT. MCT enters the body and is broken down into MCFA and glycerol after reaching the small intestine. MCFA can be directly absorbed by the epithelial cells of the small intestinal villi and enter the liver through the portal vein for oxidation and energy supply. It will hardly accumulate in the liver, fat and other tissues. Therefore, MCT has the functions of reducing weight, improving lipid metabolism, rapid energy supply, and relieving fatigue.
Since MCT is generally in liquid form, it is very inconvenient in transportation and food processing, and excessive intake of MCT at one time will increase the intestinal osmotic pressure and cause diarrhea and other problems. Therefore, HiHealth uses its own professional patented microencapsulation production technology to wrap MCT oil to form microcapsules with semipermeable or sealed capsule membranes, changing the physical state of MCT, improving the stability of the product while achieving a sustained-release effect to solve diarrhea problems, and expanding the application range of various MCT medium-chain triglycerides.

1.Increase energy consumption and promote fat burning
Compared with the LCT diet, consuming a diet rich in MCT increases energy expenditure and fat oxidation, thereby reducing body fat mass
2.Fatty acid metabolism
MCT inhibits fat production in adipose tissue by reducing the activity of fatty acid synthase, promotes activities such as carnitine palmitoyltransferase and mRNA expression, uncoupling protein mRNA expression, and glycerol kinase mRNA expression, and enhances fat breakdown.
3.Increase satiety
Consuming MCT can enhance satiety and reduce food intake, which is beneficial for weight management.
4.Regulate plasma lipid metabolism levels
Healthy overweight women who consume MCT continuously for 27 days can significantly reduce plasma cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, but have no effect on circulating triglycerides or high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Long term consumption of MCT can improve the overall cardiovascular risk of overweight women.
5.Resist fatigue
MCT can significantly prolong the exhaustion time of weight-bearing swimming, reduce serum urea nitrogen and lactate levels after exercise, decrease blood glucose and liver glycogen consumption, increase liver superoxide dismutase activity, glutathione content, and free fatty acid content, reduce liver malondialdehyde content, and increase serum lactate dehydrogenase activity.
6.Improve dementia and enhance memory in the elderly
The most common age-related neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis)Numerous studies have shown that supplementing with MCT can prevent and delay the development of the most common age-related neurogenic diseases (Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and age-related lateral sclerosis), as well as improve learning and memory abilities.
