Which vegetable oils can reduce the risk of death, cardiovascular death, and cancer death?

2024-11-20

In the Mediterranean diet, olive oil is the main source of fat. Olive oil contains a variety of bioactive compounds, and eating olive oil is associated with a variety of health benefits.

First, olive oil has the effect of effectively preventing platelet aggregation and reducing the incidence of heart disease.
Second, olive oil contains antioxidants, which can appropriately delay aging and have the effect of prolonging life.
Third, it can promote bone growth, promote calcium absorption, and prevent osteoporosis.
Fourth, olive oil can also promote blood circulation, make people energetic, and help restore spirits.
Fifth, olive oil is a better edible oil for preventing and controlling diabetes.
Sixth, in addition, the latest research has found that olive oil can effectively reduce the risk of death, cardiovascular death and cancer death.

In November 2024, researchers from the Madrid Institute in Spain published a research paper entitled "Association between olive oil consumption and all-cause, cardiovascular and cancer mortality in adult subjects: a systematic review and meta-analysis" in the journal "Food & Function".
Studies have shown that consuming olive oil may reduce the risk of death from various causes, and is associated with a 15%, 16%, and 11% reduction in the risk of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular mortality, and cancer mortality, respectively.

In this study, researchers meta-analyzed 14 studies, including 717,249 participants aged 29-75 years, and comprehensively analyzed the association between olive oil consumption and the risk of all-cause death, cardiovascular death, and cancer death.
In general, 13 studies reported all-cause mortality, 9 studies reported cardiovascular mortality, and 7 studies reported cancer mortality.
The results showed that olive oil consumption helps reduce the risk of all-cause, cardiovascular, and cancer death.
Specifically, olive oil consumption was associated with a 15% reduction in all-cause mortality, a 16% reduction in the risk of cardiovascular death, and an 11% reduction in the risk of cancer death.

Relationship between olive oil consumption and all-cause death, cardiovascular death, and cancer death

The researchers said that this is the first meta-analysis to analyze the relationship between olive oil consumption and the risk of death, cardiovascular death, and cancer death, indicating that olive oil consumption helps reduce the risk of death from multiple causes, and further clinical trials are needed to clarify the mechanism.
As for the potential mechanism, the study pointed out that
First, polyphenols and other phytochemicals in olive oil with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties may be associated with a reduction in mortality from various causes.
In addition, it appears to regulate the expression of cancer-related genes through epigenetic mechanisms, including miRNA and DNA methylation.
Finally, certain epigenetic mechanisms induced by bioactive components in olive oil may also be beneficial in reducing various mortality risks.
It is worth mentioning that in May 2024, researchers from Harvard University published a research paper titled "Consumption of Olive Oil and Diet Quality and Risk of Dementia-Related Death" in the journal "JAMA Network Open".
The study showed that consuming more than 7 grams of olive oil per day was associated with a 28% lower risk of dementia-related death compared with those who did not consume olive oil.

In January 2022, researchers from Harvard University published a research paper titled "Consumption of Olive Oil and Risk of Total and Cause-Specific Mortality Among U.S. Adults" in the journal "Journal of the American College of Cardiology".
The study showed that compared with those who never consumed olive oil, those who consumed more than 7g of olive oil per day had a 19% lower risk of cardiovascular death, a 17% lower risk of cancer death, a 29% lower risk of death from neurodegenerative diseases, and an 18% lower risk of death from respiratory diseases.

The MCT developed by Hihealth after painstaking research and development also has effective functions such as reducing weight, improving lipid metabolism, rapid energy supply, and relieving fatigue.
1. Increase energy consumption and promote fat burning

5. Resist fatigue
6. Improve dementia and enhance memory in the elderly

Since MCT is generally in liquid form, it is very inconvenient in transportation and food processing, and excessive intake of MCT at one time will cause increased intestinal osmotic pressure and cause diarrhea and other problems. Therefore, Hihealth uses its own professional microencapsulation production patented technology to wrap MCT oil to form a microcapsule with a semipermeable or sealed capsule membrane, change the physical state of MCT, improve the stability of the product, and achieve a sustained release effect to solve the problem of diarrhea, expanding the application range of various MCT medium-chain triglycerides.
